The Last Box...

5 months after we move in, we finally empty the last box! It's been sitting in our bedroom with our lamps and other room decor. It only took about 45 minutes to unpack - don't know why we haven't been able to find the time before, but it's finally done! Thank the Lord.

The first day of school....

Our new furniture!

After waiting for almost 3 months, our leather furniture has finally arrived! We spent some time today shopping and I bought some curtains, table lamps and throw pillows. We finally got it put together tonight and we are only waiting for an end table to come in (it's on order). With our lazy boy chair, it's all coming together. Of course, the pictures don't do it justice, so you'll just have to visit in person to see it! (Maybe I'll take another picture in the morning with the natural light - you might be able to see it better.)

Colvin made a milestone achievement here! He looked over at me, grabbed my arm (you could see the wheels turning) and said "Mama Up."

Toby Keith Concert.

Our friends, Judy and Andy, invited us to go to the Toby Keith concert in Denver on Friday night. It also featured James Otto and Trace Adkins! Woo Hoo! They have a friend who is also Toby Keith's stage manager and he gave them 4 tickets to see the show - we were 5 rows from the stage and it was really cool! We got some really great pictures - take a look! It was also really nice to get out for the night and we hired one of our therapists to babysit the kids. It's been SO long since we've done anything remotely like this - and by ourselves! Thanks Judy and Andy (and Lisa!) for a great night!!

Gary's Promotion to O4

Today Gary was promoted to O4, after a long wait. The message came out last year announcing the selectees, but because he's so junior, we had to wait until now for him to get promoted. We also had to wait for the pay raise until now, and I say 'we' because it's my pay raise too. :) Ha!

The ceremony was a small one inside Gary's office - I say small, but there were about 20-30 people there. Of course, it wouldn't be the same without a story or two - before the ceremony, Cole escaped down the hall, out the office and almost to the elevator before I caught him and during the ceremony, unbeknownst to me, there was a big RED lighted button that he was trying to push, which all were yelling "noooooooo" in slow motion. Then, Olivia dropped one of the oak leaves meant for Gary's collar, which promptly fell under a computer station and down into the nether regions with all the power cords. But CAPT Warner had some nice things to say and it was definitely a nice, memorable moment. Olivia put one leaf on his collar and I pinned the other one on. His two best girls!

We also posed a couple of pics outside the office building because we weren't allowed to bring cameras into the building (because of classified information, you know). But the pictures turned out cute nonetheless. I am very proud of my hubby and thankful that we've come this far.

Gary's New Car

We drove to Iowa this weekend - a VERY LONG trip - to pick up Gary's O4-mobile. :) He found a 2004 BMW M3 that he LOVES, so we took a road trip to pick it up. It's not the Shelby or the Porche, but a nice car nonetheless and it makes him happy. Besides, I now have leverage for the rest of his life. :) Here it is sitting in our driveway (including bug guts from the drive, which I'm sure will be remedied soon).
