Our trip to the Denver aquarium on Saturday was some fishy business - just kidding! They had various exhibits but I think our favorite was petting the Bat Rays. Gary fed them and Olivia and I got to pet them (Cole had fallen asleep by then). It wasn't the greatest aquarium I've been to, but nice enough that the kids enjoyed themselves. Then we went to a place called Landry's for dinner - a bit pricey, but yummy! Ate some of the fish we saw during the day - ha!! Our favorite was the Alaskan King Crab Legs - Mmmmmmmm. Here are a couple of pics for your perusal.

Happy Birthday to Matthew and David!
Since Matthew's birthday (22) is today and David's birthday (25 - WOW, you old man!) is tomorrow - I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone (metaphorically speaking) and wish them happy birthday together! We miss you guys and hope you enjoy your birthdays! Try to any way, as you get older, you don't look forward to birthdays as much! Love you both!

Pictures of our home in the Springs
It's about time we finished with this house (with the exception of a few minor details) - so here are some pictures to show you what it looks like. It's smaller than what we are used to, but not bad - just minimal storage space. But the perk is that it takes Gary 5 minutes to walk to work. Yay! That means, being a one-car family, I get to keep my car! And although it's old and typical, cookie-cutter, military housing, I think we have done a good job of making it our home. :) Somehow it just doesn't feel the same without Mom and Pop here, but hopefully it'll eventually feel more like home.
Enter our house.

Entry way - still trying to organize stuff.
Our living room - tv and cabinet are off to the left side (that you can't see from the picture). The living/dining area is one big room - kind of "L" shaped - the living room area is the bottom of the "L".
Directly at the end of the hall. Half of the master bedroom (taken from the doorway).
Other half of master bedroom - and Gary's father's day present - the BIG tv - and our miniscule bathroom.
First room on the right side of the hallway - across from the hall bathroom.
This is the left side of Cole's room (taken from doorway). We haven't decorated the walls yet.
Right side of Cole's room - and the toddler bed he won't sleep in.

Second room on the right side of the hall.
Enter Princess Olivia's Room - just a small area and then opens below.
Fit for a princess.

...When Sleepy Head Doesn't Get a Nap!
Happy Birthday Mom!
Just wanted to send Happy Birthday wishes to my Mom! I miss her so much and I wish we were there to help her celebrate - but we are going to have a little celebration when they come to visit in August! Yay! I can't wait to see her and Pop! I hope she had a good birthday nonetheless! Love you Mom!

Colorado Renaissance Fair 2009
Today we went to the Renaissance Festival with our neighbors, Mike and Holli and their kids, Elaina and Justin. There was SO much to see and do, it was a little overwhelming, but we had a fantastic time! Olivia got her hair braided and we bought her a little period costume to wear, she was SO happy to be a flower princess! And Mommy and Daddy got to eat and do a little shopping - we are definitely going back next year! Take a look at the slide show!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLVIN!!
Our little boy is TWO years old today! I can hardly believe it! He's getting so big, so fast! So today we are celebrating Colvin - we walked to the park and we are going to have cake (of course!) - and we'll just enjoy time with our little man (while he's still little) because boy, does time fly!
Happy 2nd Birthday Colvin!

El Paso County Fair
We decided to take advantage of living so close to a military base where there are military DISCOUNTS for EVERYTHING!! Yay! Today was the first day of the El Paso County Fair and we decided to go since it was FREE for military (today only). It was nice to be outside, but honestly it was a bit of a disappointment - the Blue Hill Fair in Maine was WAY better! Olivia got to ride a pony, we had a couple snacks - who can pass up a funnel cake at a fair?? - and the kids went on the cars and the ferris wheel - which was Cole's FAVORITE! Other than that, there wasn't much and we decided to do a little shopping and come home. But it was SO nice to be together - I still don't think I'm used to Gary being home. It's been a little over a month, but with moving and his school, we really haven't had a chance to enjoy it - and I'm so thankful that he's back!!
